
Head Coach John "Jack" Gibson is a former Division I swimmer from the University of Delaware, bringing a wealth of experience and passion back to the NVSL. A Fairfax Station native, he attended Sangster Elementary and Lake Braddock Secondary, where he built an impressive swimming career. Starting at Old Keene Mill at age four, he swam for Machine Aquatics and Lake Braddock Swim and Dive, eventually becoming a team captain for the Bruins. He concluded his high school career as a multi-time state finalist and still holds a school record as part of the 200 Medley Relay team. At the University of Delaware, he competed all four years, finishing in the top five in program history for the 200 Breast and 400 IM. His coaching career includes leading Delaware's Lane Swim Club to an 11-4 record over three years, finishing as league runners-up in his final season, and serving as head coach for Saint Stephens & Saint Agnes Middle School’s Swim Team this past winter. Coach Jack is thrilled to lead the Seahawks and is eager to see what the team can achieve this season!

Sarah Vollbrecht is returning to the South Run Seahawks as an Assistant Coach for the 2025 season. Sarah served as Juniors Head Coach last season, as well as a junior coach and lane coach in previous years and has been a member of the Seahawks since she was five years old. Sarah also swam for Nation's Capital Swim Club and the Lake Braddock swim team. She loves working with kids and says it's her favorite thing in the world. Outside of the pool, Sarah is a student at James Madison University.

Drew Zauel is joining the South Run Seahawks as an Assistant Coach for the 2025 season. He served as a volunteer coach and lane coach in previous years and swam for the Seahawks for 12 years. Drew says that "Coaching allows me to carry on the traditions and values that make the Seahawks so special, creating a sense of belonging and purpose for the next generation." Drew graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in 2025 and will attend the University of Virginia.

Natalie Cys is joining the South Run Seahawks as the Juniors Head Coach for the 2025 season. She was a volunteer coach and lane coach for the past four years, and she's swam for the Seahawks for 12 years. Natalie says that "I have been doing swim my whole life, and the team is like my family; I can't wait for this season and the memories it will bring."
