Coaching Applications for 2025 Swim Season | Apply by April 1
The South Run Seahawks Coaching Application for the 2025 swim season is now live. We are looking for lane coaches, volunteer coaches, one Assistant Head Coach, and one Juniors Head Coach. In addition, we are offering a new opportunity this season for lane coaches to also work as paid Social Committee Assistants, helping parent volunteers plan and execute social events for the team (e.g., pep rallies, movie night, etc). Please apply by Tuesday, April 1, 2025 to be considered for these positions. In order to successfully plan for the season, we will not accept applications past the deadline. - Registered member of the swim team
- Available for the majority of the summer
- 16 years of age or older; or 15 years of age with a lifeguard certification*
*The certification should be obtained before the first day of practice. The law requires 15 year olds to be lifeguard-certified.
All Volunteer Coaches must be:
- Registered member of the swim team
- At least 14 years of age OR rising Freshman
The South Run Seahawks swim team is looking for an Assistant Head Coach for the 2025 summer swim season! As Assistant Head Coach, you will work closely with our Head Coach to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Possess a pool operator license and be responsible for checking and documenting chlorine levels before and during practices and meets.
- If and whenever the Head Coach is unavailable, be able to effectively function as the Head Coach, which involves communicating with team reps and parents, in addition to running practices and developing meet sheets.
- Possess up-to-date CPR and lifesaving certifications.
- Demonstrate responsible and mature behavior, especially during instances of inappropriate behavior and unsportsmanlike conduct by the swimmers and/or parents. Act as a role model for good sportsmanship and team spirit through word and behavior at all swim team activities.
- As may be requested by and under the direction of the Head Coach, assist with the supervision and development of the coaching staff.
- Supervise swim team members during practices and meets. Practices should focus on stroke development and endurance with an attempt to address needs of individual swimmers.
- Organize and supervise stroke and turn clinics, as directed by the Head Coach.
- As requested, assist in developing competitive meet sheets and/or time cards for all applicable meets.
- Be available to meet or discuss issues with parents as they arise.
- Participate in pep rallies and other team social activities.
- Participate in selecting swimmers for special recognition on a weekly basis, as well as end of the season awards.

Juniors Head Coach
With more younger kids joining our swim team, we also are looking for a Juniors Head Coach. While many of the Assistant Head Coach responsibilities will be pertinent to this position, you will also work closely with the Head Coach to create a program specifically for our juniors. You will run the juniors practices, while also directing volunteer coaches who will assist during these practices. If you love working with 4-6 year old kids and teaching the basics of swimming, then this job is for you.
